What do you think?

We want to know what YOU think about services and resources at NOVA's Libraries. If you use th Library on campus, or use the Library's resources from off-campus, or have experienced Library instruction, or ever asked a Librarian for help with research, or even if you needed someone to show you how to use the photocopier -- we want to hear from you! Tell us how we're doing, what we do well, what we could improve, what services or resources we could add to make your life at NOVA better.

March 20th Book Sale Biggest Ever!

The Library held its annual Spring Book Sale -- this year on March 20th with a March Madness theme. Madness was certainly the keyword as students flocked to the "Y" (the area outside the cafeteria on the ground floor of the Bisdorf Building). In brisk morning trade, the Book Sale took in over $200 in the very first hour.

Foot traffic through the sale was busy throughout the morning. In the afternoon, the Book Sale moved upstairs to the Bisdorf Lobby outside the Library Doors. Thanks to enthusiastic participation from students, faculty, staff, and community members, the Book Sale total profits exceeded $500 -- a record breaker.

The Library is pleased to accept donations of books in good condition. Materials that are not suitable for the Library collection or inappropriate for the College curriculum will be sold, either in the ongoing Book Sale just inside the Library doors, or in one of the Library's Annual Book Sales held at the "Y" or in the Bisdorf Lobby.

Library Offers Research Refreshers

Are NOVA Students Ready to Research?
Even students who have experienced a session of library instruction in one class
can benefit from focused reinforcement.
Skills may be rusty!
The Library may have additional resources appropriate
for specific assignments.
Librarians are available to visit Smart Classrooms and provide a
15-minute
Library Research Refresher
Librarians focus on the most appropriate databases or resources & explain
off-campus access.
What Students are saying:
"More classes should get instruction in using library databases! My classmates in other classes don't know how to do their research, but I do because of the library session."
