November:Novel Writing Month
National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to creative writing.
On November 1, participants begin working towards the goal of writing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30.
Valuing enthusiasm, determination, and a deadline, NaNoWriMo is for anyone who has ever thought about writing a novel.

Local Author/ NOVA Alumnus does book talk
Local author, NOVA Alum, and Veteran Michael Cabrera celebrated the publishing of his first novel, The Wheel and the Day, at the NOVA Alexandria Campus Library Thursday October 11th.
Mr Cabrera gave a book talk discussing his novel, the writing process, the challenge of getting published, and how he draws his inspiration. This is the first Local Author Event in recent memory at the Alexandria Campus Library and hopefully there are more to come. The event was well attended by students, staff, and community members.

Summer semester is now underway! Although the 12-week session is already underway, there is still time to register for the 5-week, 6-week and 8-week sessions!

This semester Professor Carlos Schroder's ENG111 students were tasked with conducting research on the resources and services of the campus library, and developing potential ideas for Library displays highlighting topics of potential interest to the campus community and featuring resources from the Library collection.
