Willi the Library Fish is catching up on medieval Welsh tales in the Mabinogion :

The Mabinogion (PS3545.A6296 M33 2002) is a collection of Celtic legend and folklore, and some of the earliest prose literature of the British Isles.

If the collected tales are too daunting, you might try Lloyd Alexander's modern-day adaptation The Chronicles of Prydain ( PS3551.L35698 A6 2011).
